ZUHAUSE BEI DEN WIENER VASEN / AT HOME WITH THE VIENNESE VASES

16.-25.9.2022

“Yes, shoes stay on. Everyone does it like this!” Artists from Vienna move into a shared apartment and show what vases can be like. Vessels made of different materials share three rooms in the festival headquarters in the GASSE. And everyone is welcome - except people with baseball bats or those who conspicuously often trip over their own leg. “The flowers are beautiful, wow. Tulips! We love tulips.”

Sculpted, turned and cast vases made of stoneware and porcelain or mouth-blown glass take their place in the shared apartment and invite guests to take part in a visual dialog. The pieces on display communicate, sometimes loudly, sometimes subtly, the formal language and choice of materials that the very different Viennese artists pursue when it comes to designing a vase.

With works by: Gregor Titze, Berit Reuter, Teresa Berger, Isabella Fürst, Christian Hoffelner, Klemens Schillinger, Ena Kirchner, Simone Oberlechner, Agnieszka Baginska, Cristina Fiorenza, Daniel Stuhlpfarrer, Eva Maria Zangerle, Julia Geissler, Julia Rublow, Luisa Franz Kleopatra and Stefanie Koemeda
